Marilynn Flynn: Red Spider Nebula

RED SPIDER NEBULA: A dying star sends blasts of hot wind into space, generating huge waves colored by orange nitrogen & red sulphur ions. The central white dwarf, a remnant of the original star, is one of the hottest stars in the universe. As it sheds its outer layers it generates winds 10 million miles high & 18000*F hot. Seen from the surface of an imaginary planet, this nebula is located in the constellation Sagittarius, 3000 light years from Earth. ©2001
