Planets come and planets go, with some leaving a trace of their existence. A large amount of dust found orbiting the star HD 23514 in the Pleiades star cluster suggests a collision of two Earth-sized bodies.

Lynette Cook is a self-employed scientific illustrator who has focused on exoplanets and life in space throughout her professional career. She is a Fellow of the International Association of Astronomical Artists. More artwork by Cook is at http://extrasolar.spaceart.org.
